Abner Boone, one of the pioneer resident of Johnson County died at his home in Kalona at twelve o'clock last evening. He was 74 years' of age and has been a resident of this county since 1846. He leaves four sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. The funeral will take place from his home in Kalona tomorrow forenoon at ten o'clock. (Daily Iowa State Press, Iowa City, 10 Jan 1901, page 4)
