Ralph Louis Murphy, 85, of Iowa City, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Ralph was born on August 31, 1924 in Iowa City to Philip and Clara (Laschke) Murphy. He graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. He married Aileen Schreiber on October 5, 1950 in Iowa City. Ralph was a life long farmer and a real estate broker in the Iowa City area.

Ralph is survived by his wife Aileen, six children: Steven, Michel, Jim (Barb), Tim, Teresa Auer, Ann Murphy, three grandchildren: Katie, Erin, Brian, three siblings: Grace Scheetz, Rita Burns (Thomas) and Ellen Coan.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marie Pastorino and a brother Raymond Murphy.
