Marijane Weyer, age 81, passed away following a brief illness on January 23, 2005 at her home in Iowa City, surrounded by her family.

Marijane was born on September 29, 1923 to Irene (Brizzolara) and George Helenius in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Chicago in 1941. She married Raymond Weyer on October 12, 1946 in Chicago. Marijane and Ray lived in Cedar Rapids for several years. They relocated to the west coast, living in Santa Rosa, California and Beaverton, Oregon.

A favorite past time was visiting the wine country. Marijane was an avid reader, NFL football fan and political enthusiast. She was a current affairs aficionado and could converse for hours on an endless number of topics.

Marijane is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond; her sister Joan Wilschke and husband William of Evergreen Park, Illinois; her son Timothy Weyer and wife Rebecca of Beaverton, Oregon; her daughter Sally Weyer of Iowa City; her son Peter Weyer and wife Lynn of Iowa City; her daughter Nancy Weyer-Haak and husband Richard of Andover, Massachusetts; and her daughter Barbara Lindhorst and husband William of Moraga, California. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
