Eve Elizabeth Hanfland, 9 day old infant daughter of Bob Hanfland and Gwen Erkonen, died January 1, 2006 at UIHC from a congenital heart defect.

Eve was born December 23, 2005 in Iowa City. Despite the gravity of her disease Eve exhibited immense strength and brought her family an immeasurable amount of joy.

Eve is survived by her parents Bob and Gwen of 1083 Ashyland Ct., Coralville, IA 52241; her brother and sister, Eric and Charlotte; her grandparents, Beth and Bill Erkonen of Coralville and Janet and Charlie Hanfland of Sigel, Illinois; maternal great grandmother, Marcella Deters of Signel, Illinois; her nanny, Jessica Hamm; aunts and uncles.
