Celeste Crawley Hoherz, 88, of Iowa City died Tuesday, May 23 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics following sudden illness.

Celeste was born January 4, 1918, the daughter of Dr. J.E. and Ada (Collins) Crawley. She moved to Iowa in 1950. She worked as a secretary at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in the Social Services department. She retired in 1983.

Celeste is survived by her son Paul (Monica) Hoherz of Iowa City; two sisters Storer (T.B.) Waldrop of Columbia, MS and Doris (Joseph) Stulb of Marion, TX; two grandchildren, Jeff (Amy Jo) Hoherz of Olathe, KS and Judy (Jim) Worley of Poway, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Chase, Anton and Logan Hoherz and Shannon Worley.

Celeste was preceded in death by parents, her brother Collins and her sister Vera.
