L.J. "Pug" Lund

LUND, KENNISON, SWADLEY, ALEXANDER, BAKER, FISCHER

L. J. (Pug) Lund, 86-years-young, of Cedar Rapids (formerly of Williamsburg) began his eternal journey on Thursday, January 25 after a short illness. He was a patient at the VA Hospital in Iowa City where he received outstanding care over the last 35 years. Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.

Laurids was born August 18, 1920 in Enumclaw, Washington, son of Ingeborg & Niels Lund and raised near Hampton, Iowa.

After serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII, he married Shirley Kennison February 15, 1947. He was a member of VFW Post #8797of Williamsburg.

He is survived by two sisters Edel Swadley & Olga Alexander, of Hermiston, Oregon, children Robert (Vicki) of LaGrande, Oregon; Ronald (Terri) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Linda Baker of Cedar Rapids & Kevin (Phyllis) of Marengo as well as a dear family member Kay Fischer of Corpus Christi. He has eleven grandchildren and five precious great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his parents & sister Vita.

Pug possessed a generous spirit & grateful attitude and will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.

Donations may be directed to the family where they will be forwarded to the Veterans Affairs Voluntary Services (VAVS) Transportation Department. Pug received great care, excellent service and gained many friends through the help of these fine people.
