Kristina Kay Barber, 45 of Coralville, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center after a sudden illness.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Tabernacle Baptist Church or The Suburban Heights Baptist Church. Lensing Funeral Service is handling arrangements.

Kristina was born November 16, 1961 in Fairfield, IA the daughter of Jerard B. and Ilene M. (Maxwell) Hoage. She earned her BA from Truman State University in Psychology and her Masters in Management Science from Baker university. On January 23, 1987 she married Mike Barber. Kristina worked as the Assistant Director of the Iowa Consortium for Substance Abuse Research and Evaluation at the University of Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Barber of Coralville, IA, her father, Jerard Hoage of Fairfield, IA, brothers and sisters; Sheryl Bradley (Tom) of Naperville, Il, Jerry Hoage, Jr. (Cindi) Olathe, KS, Joyce Hanson (Bruce) Burlington, IL, Amy Hoage (Dan Miller) of West Des Moines. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Sara Bradley, Mandy Ricco, Mattea Miller, Dustin Benson, Levi Miller, Matthew Hoage, and Tyler Hoage. Kristina is also survived by two step daughters, Erin MacEntee (Mike), Ann Fruland(Eric), and by four step grandchildren: Elena and Kate Taylor and Kara MacEntee. Kristina is survived by her father and mother-in-law William and Lorraine Barber of Salem, South Carolina, one sister-in-law, Joyce Hoskins of Minneapolis, MN

She is preceded in death by her mother.
