William (Bill) Robert Buckles, 57, of 935 Dewey Street, ended his life Thursday, March 8, 2007 at his home.

Bill was born January 4, 1950 in Iowa City, the son of Robert and Rachel (Hurley) Buckles. He was a 1968 graduate of City High School. Bill received a scholarship to New York University, where he received his degree in film studies. In March 1981 Bill married Brenda Christner in Alsip, IL.

Bill was a project manager with Pearson for the past twelve years. He was a very creative individual, who loved gardening. Bill had traveled throughout the world, and was a gifted photographer.

Bill is survived by two children, Willis Buckles of Iowa City and Breeze Buckles of Cedar Rapids; his former spouse, Brenda Christner of Iowa City; his step-mother, Arlyne Buckles of Cameron Park, CA.; his brother, Dick Buckles of Iowa City; his aunt and uncle,
Betty Coplen of Citrus Heights, CA. and Ralph Hurley of Minneapolis, MN.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
