Janann (Jan) Stark died, May 11, 2007. She was born on July 7, 1948, to Herald I. Stark and Annis O. Stark in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa City High School in 1966 and the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1981. During her life, she worked for Eble Music Company in Iowa City and Southern Music Company in Publications in San Antonio. She also was a companion and caregiver for Martha Ellen Tye for a five-year period. For the last 10 years she cared for her mother before they returned to Iowa City following a 30 year absence.
Jan was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Annis O. Stark; her brother, Philip “Pete” Stark and his wife Chris and son Jonathon all of Denver, Colorado; her sister, Linda MacTaggart and her husband, Phil and Linda’s sons, Alex Steinberg of Orland Park, Illinois and Cory Steinberg and his wife, Janelle of Tustin, California.
