Ralph E. Coty, 59, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri of a pulmonary ailment.

Ralph was born August 30, 1947 in Mason City, the son of Paul and Spizie Coty.

He served in the US Army in Vietnam and was a graduate of Mt. Mercy College.

Ralph was a former Civil Rights Director for the City of Cedar Rapids. Ralph moved to Springfield in 2006.

Ralph is survived by three sons, Ralph Jr., Peter and Matthew; five brothers Paul Coty Jr. (Fran) of Baltimore, MD, Dwight Coty of Spokane, WA, Michael Coty (Pat) of Mason City, Joseph Coty (Sharon) of Chicago and Pierre Coty of Minneapolis, MN; five sisters, Beverly Burrell of Cedar Rapids, Paulette Kipper and Dianna Bowers, both of Iowa City, Andrea Coty of Omaha and Carolyn Coty of Mason City; fourteen nieces and nephews;and Ralph’s special friend Pamela Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pauline. Condolences may be directed to his sister, Beverly Burrell, 1804- 8th Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
