Henry Kruzic, 85

Henry "Hank" George Kruzic, 85 of Solon, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at his home from congestive heart failure. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Solon.

Henry was born May 28, 1923, the son of Slave Evan and Julia Ann (Maholic) Kruzic. Henry was a WWII Army Veteran who served in Normandy from 1943 to 1946. He married Jean Blake on October 25, 1947. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234. Henry was a great outdoorsman and he enjoyed taking vacations with his wife. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his neighbors, Bob and Terry.

Henry is survived by his son, James (Connie) Kruzic of Pleasantville; daughters, Julia (Dave) Dohrer of Hills, and Jane (Tom) Greazel of Solon; grandchildren, Lance Greazel, Luke Greazel, Lane Greazel, Janine Street, Erika Dohrer-Smith, Jason Kruzic, Rachel Young and Jacob Kruzic; nine great-grandchildren, Grant and Sam Greazel, Rylie and Tyler Greazel, Haley and Jared Street, Bella Smith, Brandon Kruzic, and Will Young; and his brother, David Kruzic of Des Moines.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Slave and Julia Kruzic; his wife, Jean in 1997; sisters, Rita Phillips and Mildred Cary; sister-in-law, Mary Kruzic; and brother-in-law, Robert Horner.
