Florencia Olaguez, 75, of 1518 Broadway Street in Iowa City, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics from complications of cancer.

Florencia was born February 23, 1933 in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Jesus and Micaela (Munoz) Calderon. She married Francisco Olaguez on February 19, 1972 in Chicago. Florencia worked as a housekeeper for many years at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois, retiring in 1995.

Survivors included her husband Francisco of Iowa City, two sons, Jose of Chicago, Illinois and Francisco (Katryn) and their children, Gonzalo Enrique, Diego Luis and Alejandro Dio, all of Iowa City; brothers, Pablo (Aurora) and Nicho; sisters, Maria Polinar (Thomas), Luz Maria, Josephina (Joel) and Inez (Juan); sister in law, Antonia and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jesus.
