Jacqueline E. (Brisbin) Ryu, 58, of Dewey, AZ, died Sunday October 5, 2008 in Coralville, IA.

Jacqueline was born on March 23, 1950 in Schenectady, NY to Phillip and Julia (Pasqua) Brisbin. She married Jai Hyun Ryu on June 16, 1973 in New York. Jacqueline received her BA in Nutrition from Syracuse University. Then in 1979 she received her PhD in Public Health from the University of Iowa.

Jacqueline is survived by her three children: Juliette Navarrete-Ryu (Max) of Ann Arbor, MI, Jessica Mulder (Sean) of Columbia, MD, Jennifer Goodale (Jason) of Washington, DC, four siblings: Janet Pandori (Robert) of Manlius, NY, Jamie Brisbin (Laurie) of Delanson, NY, Johnny Brisbin of Manchester, NH, and Cathy Brisbin of Miami, FL.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband.

Despite working at Wake Forest University Hospital in the Department of Epidemiology, she truly found her niche being a kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart Parish School. She truly made her mark on this world with her love for her husband and children. Nothing was more important than the happiness and success of her family. Through her generosity and kind spirit, she touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
