Beverly Kay Klein, 69, of 823 Basswood Lane, Iowa City died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at UIHC following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Friends
of the Animal Center Foundation. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation
Service.Beverly was born December 15, 1939 in Iowa City, the daughter of Gale and Lela Bane Parker. She was a graduate of City High School and Kirkwood College. Beverly married
Richard Klein in Las Vegas in May, 1993.Beverly was a registered nurse and had been employed at Mercy Iowa City, UIHC, Iowa City Care Center and had worked for Drs. Greenwald, Hesse and Luhman. From 1987- 2005 Beverly owned and operated Mike’s Tap. She loved to travel, taking many cruises,
and loved her animals, especially Colby, her rat terrier.Beverly is survived by her husband, Richard; three children and five grandchildren,
Cherie (Mark) Faktor of Lucas, IA and children Brandon and Dillon; Mike (Michele)
Nuechter of Cocoa, FL and children Charles, Jessica and Jacob; and Christine (Richard)
Stalkfleet of Iowa City; five step- children and ten- step grandchildren, Tim (Anne) Klein
and Kris (Doug) Tauchen, both of Iowa City, Jeff (Shelly) Klein of Hills, Rich (Kim)
Klein and Stacy (Mike) Miller, both of North Liberty; and former spouse Charles Nuechter.She was preceded in death by her parents.
