Iowa City Citizen, Iowa City (Johnson Co.), Iowa, 16 October 1918.

Bess Black who died at her home in Cedar Capids Monday night was a former art student at S.U.I. Her ailment was pneumonia. She was a very lovely young woman and active in Hesperia. Her brother, Dr. Harley Black an alumnus of the dental college, is the husband of Nellie Churchill a well known former Iowa City girl. Dr. Black is practicing at Durant.
