YOUNG WIFE CALLED IN SAD DEATH
Mrs. Floyd Campbell, known to countless friends as Pauline Sueppel, is dead at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Sueppel on Dodge street. All day Monday anxious friends hoped that the dread pneumonia which had tightened its grip more deeply upon her could be mastered, but hope waned as the night grew older and the end came at eleven o'clock last night.She came here little more than two weeks ago from Davenport for a visit with her parents but even at the time was suffering from a stubborn cold. Her ailment, however became serious a few days ago.
Mrs. Campbell was twenty-four last May. She entered the university after her graduation from St. Mary's high school and took her college degree in 1916. After a short teaching experience she was married to Floyd W. Campbell who, with their baby son Jack, survives her. In addition she leaves the following saddened relatives her parents, one sister, Mrs. Bert Russell of Dyersville, and two brothers, Carl of the S.A.T.C. and Francis at home. The husband holds a trusted position at the arsenal.
Pauline was a member of a pioneer family of Johnson county and endowed as she was with glowing health and youthful vivacity it seems very sad indeed to have her cut off in the flowering of her young wifehood and motherhood. The sympathy of old friends goes out to all bereaved ones.
The funeral which must of necessity be private will be held from the home of her parents Wednesday at ten o'clock in the morning. The burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.
