Services:Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland, Mo. with burial at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Pagedale, MO.
Visitation:Friends may call from 5 to 7pm Thursday at Baumann Colonial Chapel in Overland.
Agnes A. Boenker, 99, a resident of Walden Place died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.

Agnes was born March 6, 1909 in Robertson, MO the daughter of Edward and Louisa Rohr Barklage. Agnes was looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday. On July 5, 1930 Agnes married Carl H. Boenker in St. Louis County, Mo. Carl died in 1996.

Agnes moved to Iowa City in 1997 to from Bridgeton, MO where she was a member of the Historical Society, the Garden Club and enjoyed crafts, bingo and crocheting. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland and Iowa City.

Agnes is survived by her son, Donald E. (Janis) Boenker of Iowa City; three granddaughters, Susan (Terry) Maglich of Columbia, MO, M. Jane Mayhook and Ken Friedman of Bremerton, WA, and Elizabeth (David) Carlson of Westfield, IN; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Maglich, Nathan, ZoE Anna and Lili Mayhook, and Thomas and Madeline Carlson.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband and five siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City or Iowa City Hospice.
