Heaven received a very special angel on Saturday, February 7, 2009. Patricia Marie Corbett, 57, of Iowa City passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday February 11th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Iowa City. Rev. Ken Kuntz and Father Ed Fitzpatrick will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Dubuque, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4-8 Tuesday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service where a vigil service will begin at 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Iowa Hospice, 119 Chestnut St, Muscatine, IA 52761 or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Patty was born November 28, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa to Tom and Arlene Breitbach. She is the oldest daughter of nine children. Patty grew up in Dubuque where she fell in love and later married her husband Mike of 32 years, the couple has resided in Iowa City for the past 22 years where Patty worked as a dedicated teacher's associate for the children with special needs. She also worked for Johnson County Seats as a dispatcher and driver. Patty was and always will be an inspiration to all who knew her. With her smiles, laughter, beauty, and sense of humor, she touched the lives of many. She was a kind and giving person who put everyone before herself, a quality to be admired. She lived her life to the fullest.

There were so many things Patty enjoyed doing with her time. She loved gardening, golfing, spending time with family and friends, and most of all running around with her grandsons. She is survived by her loving husband Mike, their four children and two grandsons: Jenny Kruidenier (Kyle) of Urbandale and their children Nathan and Ben, Katie Corbett and Zach Johnson of Wilton, Tim Corbett (Laura) of Coralville, Cassie Corbett and Clint Meade of Iowa City. Parents Tom and Arlene Breitbach of Dubuque, sisters Barb Blaser (Jim), Jane Walker (Steve), Ann Breitbach Alvarenga: brothers Steve (Diane) Breitbach, Dan (Katy) Breitbach, Bob (Cathy) Breitbach, Dave (Lynn) Breitbach, and Mike (Angie) Breitbach; and 35 nieces and nephews.

Our Family would like to extend a warm thank you to all of the friends and family who have helped us spiritually, physically, and emotionally through these past two years.
