Marvin S. Jamieson, 86 of 2100 S. Scott Blvd, Iowa City died at his home Tuesday, December 16, 2008, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20. 2008, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial with military honors will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Marvin's memory to Iowa City Hospice. Marvin was born August 16, 1922, in Hiteman, IA the son of Thomas and Mae (Evans) Jamieson. During WWII he served his country serving in the United States Army. For many years he worked as a tool and die maker, retiring from the Lear Corporation in 2006. Marvin had a number of passions in his life, the Chicago Cubs; attending stock car races, professional wrestling stemming from his days in the Army as a Golden Globe fighter. He enjoyed caring for his home, keeping tabs on the neighborhood, always willing to help where he could.

Marvin's family includes his children, Donna LaGrange of Iowa City, Helen Stone of North Liberty, Dan Jamieson of Iowa City, and Kevin Jamieson of Downey, who as a grandson was raised as a son by Marvin and his former wife; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and his beloved dog, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, David and James; one great grandson; and one brother.
