Earl Stratton, 91 of Tiffin died Sunday, August 24, 2008, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery near Tiffin. Visitation will be from 3 to 7pm Wednesday at the church. Memorial donations can be made in Earl's memory to Tiffin Fire Association or Grace United Methodist Church. Earl Stratton was born February 10, 1917, in Oxford, Iowa the son of Fred and Anna (Wagner) Stratton. He graduated Oxford High School in 1936. He married Eleanor Roshek on February 10, 1938. The couple farmed southwest of Tiffin for many years. He also was involved in custom farming, and trucking for others. Earl was a member of the Tiffin Fire Association for decades and also the Iowa Farm Bureau.
His family includes his wife, Eleanor; children, Leroy (Kay) Stratton of Clinton, Tennessee, Ronni (Claudette) Stratton of Oxford, Karen (Cleo) Beckler of Tiffin and Larry (Carrie) Stratton also of Tiffin; grandchildren, Dennis Stratton, Dan Stratton, David (Ginger) Stratton, Craig (Rosemary) Stratton, Kris (Jim) Schropp, Scott Stratton, Eric Stratton, Marty (Renee) Beckler, Curt (Diane) Beckler, Dawn (Jeff) Bair, Cindy (Monte) Kasper, Clint (Jessica) Stratton; great-grandchildren, Hannah Stratton, Kimberly Stratton, Andy Stratton, Shania Schropp, Randi Schropp, Dalton Beckler, Colton Beckler, Payton Beckler, Curran Beckler, Megan Beckler, Chloe Beckler, Delaney Bair, Brayton Bair, Travis Kasper, Heather Kasper, Paxton Oxley, Faith Stratton, Gracen Stratton and Ellie Stratton; sisters, Zda Weldon and Eileen (Bill) McCormack; brothers, Wayne (Jan) Stratton and Charles (Nancy) Stratton.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Stratton; sister, Lois Stratton; brother, Leo Stratton; grandchildren, Kim and Kirk Stratton.
