MRS. RUPPERT DIES AT 99

Funeral Services for Long-Time Resident

Mrs. Augusta Strub Ruppert, 99 years old Thursday, died at 2 a.m. this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.F. Wunnenberg of Morning Sun, with whom she had been living for the past few years. Mrs. Ruppert had been ill for eight months.

Mrs. Ruppert was born in New York City August 1, 1847, and came to Iowa City with her parents, Joseph and Julie Strub, when she was eight years old.

On September 15, 1868, she married J. Frederick Ruppert. Her husband and four sons preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughter, Mrs. C.J. Toms of Iowa City, Mrs. Wunnenberg of Morning Sun, Mrs. William Weese of Spirit Lake; one son, C.J. Ruppert of Burlington; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; and one brother, George Strub, Helena, Mont.

Mrs. Ruppert was a member of the Zion Lutheran church, where funeral services will be held. No arrangements have been made. The body will be at Oathout’s funeral chapel tonight.
