John Gaddis Crain (13 Jan 1819 – 6 Jun 1891)

J.G. Crain died last Saturday after a protracted illness. Mr., Crain was seventy-three years old and for a long time was a resident of this city. He was a gentleman of high moral character and was loved by all his associates. Mrs. S. Sharpless, of Iowa City, Mr. Ed Crain, of Lone Tree, and Dr. Crain of Solon, were his sister and brothers. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Barrett administering the last sad services.
