Former Local Resident Dies
William Mechler Funeral Will Be Held Here Tomorrow

Funeral services for William Fred Mechler, 69, former Iowa City resident who died Saturday afternoon at a Davenport hospital will be held at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning at St. Mary's church. Burial will be made in St. Joseph's cemetery. Mr. Mechler had been ill for several weeks. His wife preceded him in death in 1933. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. M. Lloyd of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. A. Harshberger of Shenandoah, one son, Eugene of Mercer, Pa.: two brothers, John of Iowa City and August of Auroh, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Emma Wagner of Oxford. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Six grandchildren survive.
