Jill A. Moore, age 53, of Iowa City died Monday August 20, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City following a sudden and unexpected illness.Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa officiated by Rev. Bob Wollenberg. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm Wednesday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Wednesday evening. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. Jill was born on September 9, 1953 in Washington, Iowa to Richard "Pinky" and Mary Lee (Weeks) Moore. She graduated from Washington High School and attended Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, Missouri. She married Rick Lampkin on June 24, 1972 in Washington, Iowa. In 1998 Jill moved to Iowa City, Iowa where she most recently worked at West High School.
Jill enjoyed gardening, writing stories for children and she had a flare for decorating. Jill's family and her three grandchildren were the pride of her life.
Jill is survived by her son, Brandon Lampkin and wife Angela and their children Austin, Tyler and Mitchell of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter Lorin Armstrong and husband Kevin of Irving, Texas; daughter Kristin Roffman and husband Aaron of Irving, Texas; and two brothers Mike Moore and wife Elaine of Washington, Iowa; and Joe Moore and wife Reva of Sugar Grove, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
