Obituary -

(Newspaper April 27, 1974)

LESLIE LILLIAN HAMLIN ... Leslie Lillian Hamlin, eldest daughter of Lillie Greenlief and William H. Hamlin, was born at Steamboat Rock, Iowa, on December 25, 1894. When a small child, she and her parents moved to Blythedale, Mo., where they lived on a farm and where Leslie attended school and was a graduate of the Blythedale High School. At an early age she was converted and baptized and joined the Baptist Church here where he remained a member all her life.

Leslie was a nurse in Iowa City, Iowa, for many years until her health failed her. She continued to reside in Iowa City where she and her aunt, Mrs. Fay Adey, made their home together. By nature Leslie was a very quiet person, yet very happy to meet friends and neighbors who lived near her parents home and to visit with them when she spent her vacation here from her nursing duties.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to mourn her departure two sisters, Elsie Hamlin and Mrs. Grace Perry; a brother-in-law, Elbert Perry of Blythedale; her aunt, Mrs. Fay Adey, of Iowa City, Iowa and several cousins.

A dear one had left our midst but the life she lived and the friends she made writes her eulogy far better than words. The memory of her love will always remain in the hearts of her family, friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held Sept. 27, 1974 at the Blythedale Baptist Church with Rev. Evan Wall officiating. Interment in Cedar hill Cemetery by the side of her parents.
