LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF CITY SUCCUMBS

Fred M. Abbott Dies on Tuesday Morning

Fred M. Abbott, a life long resident of Iowa City, died Tuesday morning at 5:30 o'clock at Mercy hospital after an illness of a few days. He was 58 years of age and was born and reared in this vicinity. He will be remembered by many as one of the old-time horsemen.

Two children, Mrs. Frank Boyes, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Miss Mildred Abbott, of Toronto, Can., survive; and also two brothers, Harry and Charles, both of Iowa City, and a sister, Carrie, of Kansas City, Kan.

The remains will be at the McGovern Funeral Home until the funeral, arrangements for which have not been completed.
