W. Paul Morsch, 73, of Iowa City died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Iowa City Care Center, where he had been a resident the last five years.

A Gathering time for family and friends will be Saturday, February 24, 2007 from 3 to 5pm at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Paul was born March 3, 1933 in Armstrong, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Doris Paul Morsch. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Journalism and hade served in the US Army. He was married to LeRee Olson.

Paul was a well-known news producer and sports announcer. Paul began his career with WKBT-TV and WKBH-Radio in LaCrosse, WI. In 1967 the Morsch family moved to Iowa City where Paul was with KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids For fifteen years he was
the news and sports director with KCJJ-Radio Iowa City. Following retirement Paul was employed with Simpson Security Systems.

Paul is survived by three children, Jack (Jean) Morsch of Iowa City and their daughter Carlin; Sara (Jim) Blenker of Alexandria, MN. and her children Andrew, Nicholas, Sierra, Jackson and step-children Patrick, Allison and Lauren; Dr. Layne (T.C.) Morsch
of Lake Zurich, IL and their sons Jonah and Eli; his sister, Susan Stanley of Lake Worth,
FL; and his former spouse LaRee (Loren) Opdahl of Oakdale, MN.
