Olga Goebig, age 88 of 1010 Scott Park Drive, Iowa City, died February 28, 2002 following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Elmwood Park Cemetery Chapel in River Grove, Il. Local arrangements were provided by Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City.

She was born July 4, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Ustin and Xenia (Warchena) Sharavar. She married Walter Goebig on October 6, 1929. The couple resided in Chicago for many years before moving to Florida in 1965 after retiring. Walter died in 1967. Olga continued to live in Florida until moving to Iowa City this past year. Her family includes one daughter Marge and her husband, Charles Goedtke of Bella Vista, AK; two granddaughters, Pamela and her husband, Daniel Tiedt of Iowa City, and Gail and her husband, Donald Dunsker of Naperville, Il, grandson, Charles and his wife, Christine Goedtke of Peachtree City, GA; six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marie Przudzik of Naperville, IL and Tanya Tomaszewski of Chicago.

In addition to her husband, Walter, a brother, John Sharavar preceded her in death.
