Miriam K. Wheeler age 83 of 705 5th Ave Place Coralville died suddenly at her home on Tuesday morning. Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gay and Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Order of the White Shrine Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Shiners Children’s Hospital. The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Miriam and her family.

Miriam was born on July 31, 1918 in Ottumwa, Iowa the daughter of LeRoy and Helen Arandus Dimmitt. She graduated from Ottumwa High School and married Francis Wheeler on May 9, 1944 in Lancaster, Mo. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the White Shrine and Eastern Star in Iowa City and Daughter of the Nile in Cedar Rapids. Along with raising her children, she enjoyed ceramics, cooking, painting, sewing and attending the Masonic activities.

Miriam’s family includes her husband: Francis of Coralville, daughters: Connie Joyce and husband LeRoy Rummelhart of Coralville, Marilyn Jean and husband William Nelson of West Des Moines, one son: Craig Alan Wheeler of Riverside, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren: sisters Irene Howk of Ottumwa, Virginia Skala of Wilber, Nebraska, Glayds Given of Birmingham, Alabama, Brother In-law Donald Wheeler of Ottumwa, Sisiter in-law Darlene and husband Carl Arndt of Kalona.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, two Brothers Donald Snook and Robert Dimmitt.
