Susan M. Brack Wille age 47 of Belle Plaine and formerly of Oxford died on Saturday, February 2, 2002 following a long illness with cancer. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford with Father Edmund Dunn Officiating, burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford where a rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. A memorial fund in her name has been established. The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Susan’s arrangements.
Susan was born on April 8, 1954 in Iowa City the daughter of Richard and Joyce Kapfer Brack; she attended Clear Creek Schools and Kirkwood Community College. On August 27, 1977 she married Laren Willie at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford. She worked for Johnson and Iowa Counties in the Motor Vehicle Registration Departments, the Colony Village and Colony Haus restaurants in little Amana and most recently was employed by GCI Building Supply in Belle Plaine. Susan was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, National Catholic Forrester’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford.
She is survived by her husband Laren, daughter Kristina and son Kyle all of Belle Plaine: her father Richard Brack, two brothers Dan and wife Dianna Brack, Terry and wife Brenda Brack: four Sisters Kathy (Last Name), Marcia (last name), Michelle (Last name) all of Oxford and Sandy and husband Craig Newkirk of Homestead: four brother in laws, Lyle and wife Gay Wille of Slaydel (Sp), La.: Loren and wife Sara Wille of Russia: Leroy and wife Patty Wille of Conroy: one sister in law Linda Franklin of San Antonio, TX.: step mother in law Sally Wille of Williamsburg: mother in law May Louise Gibson of Bendara (sp), TX.; along with twenty two nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by mother Joyce, grandparents: Leonard and Martha Brack and Louis and Clara Kapfer, two aunts, Elaine and Mary Teresa.
Susan was a dedicated wife and mother. Her faith and family were the most important things in her life. She enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, shopping and collecting angles. Her family will long remember her stubborn and courageous four and a half year battle against cancer. “Close your eyes and see her warm smile and sparkling eyes”
