Claudine E. Winter, 65, Moline, died Wednesday May 8, 2002 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Our Mom was born in Grants Pass, Oregon, April 19, 1937 to Claude and Mary Ella Lovested (Verdin). She lost her mother April 20, 1937 and was raised by Claude (1912-1993) and Sylvia (Dukovsky) Lovested, with her brother Alan Lovested (wife, Linda, daughters Jodi Jensen, Tiffany and Jenny). She was also the dearly loved niece of Nellie Bennette, Joe and Eleanor Verdin and Luella Verdin.

Our Mom’s life was dedicated to the enhancement of the lives of those around her. Her appreciation of the fragility of life inspired her to make those who touched her feel special. Mom made no apologies for putting us, her children and grand-children above anything, including herself. Daughter Dawn (Lema) and son-in-law Gregg Johnson, granddaughter Shilah Johnson and grandson Brad VanOpdorp of Milan, son Chris Lema and daughter-in-law Lisa (Benge), granddaughter Allyson Lema and grandson Logan Hildebrant of Rock Island, and daughter Sunny Winter of Moline, would like you to help celebrate her life, Friday May 10th at Gatsby’s in downtown Moline beginning at 4:00, with the sharing of a few words at 5:30. Mom would not wish for anyone to be inconvenienced, if you are unable to attend we understand that your thoughts are with us.
