JoAnne Louise Carmean Parks passed away on January 28, 2006 at her home in Los Altos after a long fight with cancer. She leaves her loving Husband, Jack and 4 Sons, Jeff of Turlock, CA; Tim and Wife, Kim of Temecula, CA; Randy, of Houston, TX and Mike and Wife, Mary Ann of Santa Clarita, CA; 5 Grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, Tina, Nolan and Jack and 2 Brothers, Bill Carmean and Wife, Anna of Highlands Ranch, CO and Dan Carmean and Wife, Maria of Santa Monica, CA.

JoAnne was born in Iowa City, Iowa on January 30, 1931 and came to Santa Monica, CA in 1947. She attended Santa Monica High and graduated from UCLA with a BS Degree in Home Economics. While at UCLA she belonged to the ADPi Sorority. She was permanent Class Secretary and was on the O.C. Board.

She was resident of Los Altos for 37 years. She was one of the original volunteers of the Discovery Shop Downtown (American Cancer Society) and a "Reach to Recovery" Visitor for 10 years. Her interests were walking, attending the theater, traveling, playing bridge, getting together with family and reading.
