Funeral Mass for Susan R. Rohret, 43, of rural Oxford, who died at her home Monday, May 22, 2006 will be Friday, May 26, 2006 at 10am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cosgrove. The Rev. Edmond Dunn will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8pm Thursday, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City, where a Vigil Service will be held at 8pm. Friends may call after 9am Friday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, an educational fund for Erica and Andrew has been established. Donations may be directed to the funeral home or any US Bank in the Iowa City area.

Susan was born May 12, 1963 in Pella, Iowa, the daughter of Gysbert and Ruth Riddle Blommers. Susan was a graduate of Linn-Mar High School and a 1986 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. On May 7, 1994 she married Scott Rohret at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Susan had been employed at Hawkeye Food Systems in the small equipment sales division.

Susan was a member of St. Peter’s Church Susan had a wonderful spirit which she shared with family and friends. She loved to contribute to her community and her church, where she had taught catechism, served as secretary for the Altar and Rosary Society and assisted with church dinners. Susan was interested in Habitat for Humanity.

Susan is survived by her husband, Scott; their children, Erica and Andrew, both at home; her mother, Ruth Blommers of Coralville; her sister, Joni (Gary) Werle of Iowa City; her in-laws, Jim and Trish Rohret of Cosgrove; brother and sister-in-laws, Beverly Rohret, Steve (Julie) Rohret, Susan (Chris) Lange, Marty (Michelle) Rohret, and Troy (Jennie) Rohret.

Susan was preceded in death by her father Gysbert “Guy” Blommers.
