Elizabeth J. “Betsy” Verry, 73, passed away Thursday May 11, 2006 at Washington Care Center following a long illness.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Iowa City. Reverend Jeff Belger will officiate. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery in Tiffin. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Elizabeth’s name. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service is handling arrangements.

Elizabeth was born on June 27, 1932 in Lone Tree, Iowa to Howard and Ann (McComas) Verry. She resided at the REM home in Kalona. Elizabeth then moved to Washington in 1997.

Elizabeth is survived by her nieces and nephews, Steve, Mike Jim & Holly Verry; Sandy Bryant; Linda Walls; Jeff, Tom & Julie Verry; Peggy Hartley and a sister-in-law, Rita Verry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother William, a brother Thomas, and a sister Dorothy Ann Verry.
