Dorothy W. Cannon, 93, formerly of Coralville, died peacefully Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Methwick Manor in Cedar Rapids.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City with Reverend Jeff Belger officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City with a parish vigil service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dorothy W. Cannon Memorial Fund.
Dorothy was born February 19, 1913 in Fairfax, Iowa, the daughter of James & Helen (Faltinson) Mulherin. Growing up in Cosgrove, Dorothy lived most of her adult life in Coralville. She married James W. Cannon April 6, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. She very much enjoyed golf and dancing. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord with all her heart and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
