July 7, 1892Last night in the City Hall was held a special called meeting of the fire police of Iowa City. This organization now has sixteen members, beside the two new ones whose names for membership were favorably acted upon last night.
The main object of the meeting was to elect officers, and the following is the result: Jas. W. Klema, Captain; Samuel Grimm, 1st Lieutenant; Wm. Lichto, 2nd Lieutenant; Conrad Strub, Treasurer; Fred Schmidt, Secretary.
Two new members were taken into the organization. The organization has sent for new uniforms, which are a dark blue, and the finest of any organization, of firemen in the city.
