BAND DELIGHTS
THOUSANDS HERE
----
New Organization of Musicians
Scores Tremendous Hit at
City Park Sunday.
----
Iowa City's newest band scored a tremendous hit at the city park Sunday afternoon.
Thither thousands of people repaired by auto, buggy, foot and electric railway company's cars.
Possibly 5,000 people visited the park during the day, and the major part of the vast throng in the afternoon was attracted by the announcements herein of the free openair concert by the new band.
The same organization which contributed this entertainment also donated its services on "Liberty Bell Day."
The Iowa Stat Firemen's Association tournament will be rendered more and more lively by the music to be provided by these talented artists, also.
It is to be hoped that some arrangements can be made whereby the new band may be engaged to give concerts every Sunday at the park.
The organization is under the management of a past grand master in the field, John W. Miller, chief of police of Iowa City, and its director is John Unash, one of the city's ablest musical artists.
