Coralville Library thanks supporters

Last week, the Friends of the Coralville Public Library held its annual meeting. To call it a meeting doesn't do it justice. It was a celebration of what love for reading can help accomplish in our communities.
Over 40 people gathered to thank many volunteers for their continued and tireless service to enhance the Coralville Public Library. Awards were given for hours volunteered. One volunteer, Deb Hatz, has now volunteered more than 3,250 hours. The age of our volunteers went from teen to 90+. The major awards given were to Lily Hansen for the Teen Service Award, which provides $1,000 to the recipient. The other major award,the T. Patricia Dee Award, is given by the Board of Trustees for outstanding service to the library. The recipients were Lloyd and Donna Eppley, whose service spans decades.
A symbolic check of $11,300 was presented to librarian Alison Ames Galstad, representing the projects funded this year by Friends.
The next book sale will be May 8-9, when you can purchase books to help us enrich the library's programs.
