Village Shoppe donates P. Buckley Moss Print to Pleasantview Benefit Sale

This year the Pleasantview Home Benefit Sale and the returning visit of P. Buckley Moss to Kalona are occurring on the same weekend, November 8-9. With these events brings the opportunity for those attending the Pleasantview Sale to bid on one of two limited prints that artist P. Buckley Moss is painting just for her visit in Kalona.
Doris Greiner of the Village Shoppe in Kalona is donating the limited edition print, matted and framed, of the "Autumn at the Octagonal Barn." The print is number 6. The other print is, "Memories of the Pentacrest." Both will be released as limited edition giclees on paper during her show appearance in Kalona, Iowa, November 8-9. The show is being sponsored by the Village Shoppe and will be held at the Kalona Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Moss will be available from 1 to 7 P.M. on Friday, November 8, and from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday, November 9, to meet collectors and sign her work.
"Autumn at the Octagonal Barn" features the Emily Roberts family barn located halfway between Iowa City and Sharon Center, Iowa. It was built in 1883 on land that has been in the family since before the War Between the States and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
The Village Shoppe is one of about 300 galleries that carry P. Buckley Moss' art. Each year Ms. Moss travels the country to visit up to 20 of these galleries for special shows. Pat Moss is well-known throughout the country for her portrayals of the Amish and for her tranquil landscapes. "I love traveling and meeting so many interesting people who truly care about others," says Moss. "I feel like I have a vast network of extended family. I try to focus on my art on the positive elements of life, and I find so much inspiration in the wonderful people I meet." Pat Moss will meet collectors of her art and sign prints and all purchases made during the show. Collectors are invited to bring two previously purchased prints, paintings, or products to the show for personalization as well.
Pleasantview Benefit Sale begins Friday November 8 at Iowa Mennonite School with a turkey tenderloin meal from 4:00-7:30 pm; a bake sale beginning at 5 pm; on Saturday, November 9, all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage breakfast 6:30-10:00 am, and a concession stand throughout the event. You can come early Friday to eat and then be entertained by the Wellman Mennonite Worship Team and Great Bluegrass Herons before the live auction begins.
The silent auction will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday, with on section ending at 6:20 pm Friday and a second section ending at 6:35 pm. The live auction starts at 6:45 pm Friday and then again on Saturday morning, beginning at 8:30 am and lasting until all items are sold.
Come ready to place your bid on the P. Buckley Moss print on Friday evening and enjoy dinner and entertainment. Remember your donation will be matched for all proceeds raised up to $75,000.
