Sharon Center 4th of July Parade

The 7th annual Sharon Center Parade is set for July 4, starting at noon. The line up will be from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Winborn farm West of Sharon Center, 2550 500th Street SW. At noon, the parade will march approximately one mile East on 500th Street into Sharon Center, ending at Steve's Farm and Supply.
Following the parade will be a BBQ pork and potluck at the Masonic Lodge in Sharon Center at 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own table service, a dish to share and lawn chairs. No alcohol will be permitted.
This year's parade Grand Marshals are Bertz (Marietta) Yoder and Charsh (Charlotte) Lackender. Both women, who are sister-in-laws, have grown up in Sharon Center and farmed in the area their whole lives.
Carrying the colors to lead the parade will be former Army General, Bob Sentman.
Sixty to eighty parade entries are expected this year, with a crowd of around 1,000 being planned on. Some anticipated events of the day are the New Horizons Band and local Audrey Yoder singing the Star Spangled Banner.
All are welcome to attend the parade, enter a float, and share in the picnic at the Masonic Lodge. For more information regarding the parade, contact Roger Stutsman at 679-2347, Phil Winborn at 683-2818, Reg Yoder at 683-2314 or Steve Yoder at 683-2909.
