The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 26, 1877

Today a contract was entered into between the building committee and Sheets, Gesberg & Co. for the erection of a depot building for the C., C. & W. R. R. The building will be of frame, 16 x 40 feet, with a platform six feet wide all around it. It will be used for an office, waiting room, and freight storage; shed, etc., will be built for the locomotive and other needs. Work will begin tomorrow, we are informed. - Iowa City Press
