Emily Likes Out Of Doors

Healthiest Girl of County Is Sport Enthusiast

"Stuffed tomatoes", she said without so much as batting one of these lovely green - no, wait - grey, that's it! GREY - or maybe they're hazel - well anyhow, one of those indisputably lovely eyes.
Let's see, what was it we were talking about? Oh, yes - stuffed tomatoes. That, according to Health Champion Emily Yoder, is what she likes to eat.
But that's not all, of course, that puts the roses in those plump cheeks and the sparkle on those incisors, cuspids, bi-cuspids, etc. Emily consumes plenty of milk and vegetables, likes to be out-of-doors, swims, plays basketball and it an ardent bicyclist.
Sixteen years old and a junior in high school.

Emily Yoder, Dale Burr To Represent County in State Fair Health Event

All set for a trip to the Iowa state fair are Emily Yoder and Dale Burr, healthiest girl and boy in Johnson County, according to results of the annual 4-H club contest announced today. The winners will be introduced officially at the 4-H program east of Iowa stadium tomorrow night. (Wednesday night's program was postponed on account of rain.) Emily represents Sharon township; Dale is a resident of Lone Tree. Last year's county health champions were June Niffenegger of Sharon township and Cecil Gongwer of West Branch. As Johnson County delegates, Emily and Dale will compete in the state 4-H health contest in Des Moines late this month.
