FRANK NOVAK, a resident of Iowa City, a carpenetr [sic] by trade; was born Dec. 10, 1843, in Bohemia. Came to America when four years of age, landed in New York City and lived there until he was sixteen years of age. Settled in Iowa City in 1861. He was a faithful soldier in the Union army, enlisting in Company B, Twenty-second Iowa Infantry in 1862. Came home in August, 1865, and began work at his trade, which he has followed ever since, establishing for himself a good business. He was married July 27, 1867, to Miss Barbara Loder, of Linn county, Iowa. A democrat in politics. His place of business is on Jefferson street between Linn and Gilbert streets, where he has a nice carpenter shop and always plenty to do.
