ELDON, Ia. P. W. (Wilbur) SMITH, 79, well known painter and decorator in Wapello and Jefferson Counties, died suddenly at his home at Eldon yesterday 9:50 a.m. Campbell Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial in Batavia Cemetery.

Born in Wapello County Nov. 3, 1874, son of Carlisle and Eliza SMITH, and spent most of his life in Wapello and Jefferson Counties. He married Anna WOODS Aug. 21, 1936, who survives. A brother, Seldon SMITH, also survives. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He started working as a boy with his father and older brother as a painter and interior decorator, and has been associated with his brother at Batavia for the last few years.
