Ralph C. PARRETT

Ralph C. PARRETT of, Fort Madison, a former resident of Fairfield, died at the Hill Hotel in Omaha, at 7:00 p.m. The body was returned to Fort Madison, and the funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. at the Clements
Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Fairfield cemetery (sic. Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa), at 4:45 p.m., tomorrow.

Mr. PARRETT was born Sept. 16, 1891, near Fairfield. He was a merchantile (sic - mercantile?) salesman and resided in this city prior to his residence in Fort Madison. He
married Emma Kathryn MARSH, July 17, 1923, and is survived by the wife, two sons and two brothers, and one sister.

He enlisted in the World War in 1917 and was discharged in 1919. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will act as an escort.

Special note: The inscription on the headstone reads:

(sic. it isn't clear if the August 24, 1936 was an engraving error or meant something else; it could have meant July 24, 1936 for his DOD. Ralph was buried on July 28, 1936.)
