D. M. PARRETT was born in Fayette County. Ohio, Oct. 19, 1819, and died at the home of his son, Joseph PARRETT, in Locust Grove Township, Jefferson County, Iowa, June 5, 1905 aged 85-7-17.

Came to Iowa in the fall of 1850 and located in Locust Grove township, Jefferson County, and has lived there continuously ever since. Member of a large family of children, of whom four brothers and one sister survive him, and four have gone on before.

A short time before his death he visited the old home in Ohio and it was a great consolation to him in his last days that he had been able to see his relatives and old friends before he died. He was married to Barbara (sic - Barbra) A. WEBB Sept. 19, 1841 -- five sons, all survive him. His wife died June 20, 1902.

Three of the boys live near the old home, Joseph, Collins and Edward; Jasper in Calif., and Locherd in Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 25 grgrchn. Methodist Protestant Church in Ohio; Cumberland Presbyterian in Illinois...
