MORRISON. Sarah Jane BURT was born in Nauvoo, Ill., Apr. 30, 1842; died at her home in Batavia Oct. 30, 1926, age 84 y. 6 m. Her parents, William and Matilda BURT, died when she was a small child and she went to live with her aunt, Mrs. TERREL, until her marriage to Isaac A. MORRISON in 1860 in Van Buren County, later moving to Wapello County, Iowa.
Seven children, two died in infancy, and later her daughter Mrs. George ALFRED of Ottumwa. Surviving: Charles A. of Batavia; Frank T. of Dillon, Mont.; Clarence W. of Muscle Shell, Mont.; and Mrs. Eva SHOEMAKER of Marshfield, Wis....
Most of their married life was spent on a farm near Batavia until her husband's death in 1907 when she moved to her home in Batavia. Lifelong member Methodist Church. Remains interred in the old Batavia Cemetery.
