A Stricken Family.

Mrs. Carrie B. McLANE, wife of John McLANE, died very suddenly at her home in this city Friday evening. Mrs. McLANE had been in ill health for perhaps three years past, but for the last six months had been growing much better. Thursday evening she retired in excellent spirits, but during the night was seized with a convulsion. She recovered from it only to pass into another and a state of unconsciousness which continued until death came to her relief. Deceased was a daughter of the late Hiram GREENLAND of Batavia. She was born and grew to womanhood in that place, and was married to Mr. McLANE at Agency October 23d, 1883. Four children were born to them, all of whom are now living. In her old home Mrs. McLANE won many friends by her gentle and kindly manner, but her illness had prevented an extensive acquaintance in this city, to which place the family removed about a year ago. She was a most excellent woman, a fond wife and loving mother, and the sympathies of the community will go out to the grief stricken husband and motherless children. The remains were taken to Batavia for interment and were laid in the grave Sunday. Rev. E. J. Pike conducted the funeral services.

William J. MOHLER, who died at Batavia Wednesday was a member of this same family. He married Grace, the youngest daughter of the GREENLAND family. Mr. MOHLER born and grew to manhood in Locust Grove township, but lived in this city for several years. His death resulted from consumption, from which disease he had been a sufferer for nearly a year past. Deceased was about twenty-four years of age, and he leaves a sorrowing wife and one child. His remains were interred at Batavia Friday.
