BATAVIA. Ralph McDOWELL, 83, died 7:10 p.m. Fri. at the Kirk Nursing Home in Agency. Burial Batavia Cemetery.

Born Feb. 12, 1886, at Batavia, son of James and Emma GREENLAND McDOWELL and had lived in Batavia most of his life. He operated the McDOWELL Produce Company for several years. Member Batavia Christian Church and Kilwinning Lodge No. 198 A.F. & A.M., Batavia.

Married Faye PEEBLER HUGHELL Dec. 11, 1921. She survives; also a stepdaughter Mrs. Wilma STAEBLER, Ottumwa; 3 step-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sarah BLACK, Batavia. Preceded in death by a brother.
