Mrs. Barbara E. LEWIS, 83, longtime resident of the Batavia community, died Tues. evening at home of her son, J. E. LEWIS in Batavia. Bur. Batavia Cemetery.

Born in Warren Co., Ind., May 8, 1858, came with her family to the Batavia community at an early age and lived there until 1894... Husband died 1925.

Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bessie KOGER of Grinnell, one son, J. E. LEWIS of Batavia; 16 grandchildren and six grgrchn. (From Death Record, her father was Thomas STEPHENSON, mother Sarah FINLAW / FINLOW.)
